I've always been on the creative path, even when I didn't know where it was leading. My journey started at basketball tournaments, I always went to support my brother's team. But I was elsewhere, with my sketchbook in my lap-- I'd draw superheroes wearing platform shoes, fairies with flower petal wings.

 

I took my creativity from the bleachers to the classroom, was voted "most artistic" in high school.

I studied animation at Ball State, where I sat in rooms with animation legends like John Pomeroy and learned from professors who pushed me to see drawing as a living language. I was a teaching assistant and challenged undergrads to push their abilities further. I produced my thesis film during a global pandemic and touched my audience at a time when our country struggled to find compassion for each other.

And now I'm building something new.

I'm currently developing a short film called Waves, centered on a mermaid named Namaka — she carries the same quiet depth I've always looked for in the art that moves me. She and Lokahi, a kind Hawaiian fisherman, navigate through separation on their own with time and healing. ​
